TIGER BLOOD

So, I like tigers. Tigers are one of my favourite animals at the moment. I'm also really interested in having a tattoo done. I thought, why not combine the two and get a tiger tattoo?

After searching the internet, I couldn't find many pictures of a tattoo featuring a tiger in a style that I like. I'm not a fan of realism tattoos, but also don't really like a lot of 'regular' greyscale tattoos. Plus, most of the tiger designs that I see are usually pretty similar, with the tiger usually in the same pose. For that reason, I thought I could try desigining my own!

Since it's a tiger design, I really wanted to include the words "TIGER BLOOD" somewhere near the design. Back in school, I completed my broze Duke of Edinburgh award. One of the teachers who took us on our practice expedition would always encourage us to keep pushing onwards when we were aching and tired by saying "TIGER BLOOD!". It basically meant that we had the blood of tigers in us—we were strong and could keep going, no matter how hard the road ahead seemed to us. On our real Duke of Edinburgh expedition, our group would shout the words at each other to keep going and to keep strong. They're now words I'll always remember, to keep going when times are tough. That's why I wanted to include it in a tattoo design.

Here are a couple of concepts I designed. I think I like the left one more than the right because it's a bit simpler. However, I do really like the way the head looks on the right. I'm certainly not a tattoo artist and am definitely not versed in the ways of Good Tattoo Design, but it was a fun little challenge to try and come up with something that looks like it could exist on someone's skin!
