Hello!

I'm Hannah Young, a first-year animation student at university in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England. Welcome to my website and blog!

I've only recently started my journey into animation, and drawing too! I didn't start to become serious about drawing as a career until my second year of college in 2018. In school I didn't even know you could draw as a job! Even though I haven't been drawing for long and still have a long way to go in learning animation, I enjoy it a lot and look forward to where a career in the industry can lead!

I recently invested in an iPad which is where I now mainly create work. However, I have created digital artwork and animations also using Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop and Cinema 4D. There are a number of mediums I'd like to create work in in the future too, such as risographs, t-shirt designs, stickers, pins and prints, for example.

I'm still not 100% sure where specifically in the arts/animation industry I'd like to work, but at the moment, I really enjoy making 2D frame-by-frame animations and stop-motion animations. My first and second years at university will allow me to explore a range of mediums and programs, and my third year will be more focused on a singular project, so this will hopefully allow me to realise where specifically in this field I'd like to work.

As mentioned above, I am still very new to animation and art generally, so I am excited to document my progress on this blog through the coming years to see where it leads me!
